The Green Lake Fine Art Show draws artists and art lovers together in a beautiful, picturesque setting. August 11 and 12, its 46th year, will be no different. A renowned juried show, it’s one of the Midwest’s best because of the effort put in to maintaining the quality and diversity of the show. Since the vendor switchover rate is 40 percent, the show is different every year. And each piece of work is of original design and execution by the artist exhibiting. All artists’ works are for purchase.

The Green Lake Fine Arts Council travels to other art shows to discover artists to participate in Green Lake’s show. The selection committee reviews the work of hundreds of artists/applicants and chooses new artists each year. A pleasant, profitable, quality show for both artists and patrons is their goal!

Art in every medium is showcased under white tents, including oil paintings, watercolors, acrylics, drawings, photography, digital art, mixed media, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, glass, and wood. There is an opportunity to meet the artists in their tents, learn about their process, and perhaps watch them work.

A plein air painting experience is something new for the 2018 show. Plein air painting, or painting outside, began with the French Impressionists. Painters can set up throughout Green Lake and paint its gorgeous surroundings—fun for both the public and the artists.

Admission to the show is free. Live music is performed throughout the weekend, and food and beverages are provided by the Green Lake Rotary. “Come for the fine art, great music, and delicious food; spend the weekend enjoying the lake life with us,” says show organizer Ali Rae Rossberg.
