Great Golf is Par for the Course

The Green Lake area has been known by golfers since 1896, when Tuscumbia, Wisconsin’s oldest course, was founded. Today, golfers know that the region offers some of the best golfing in the country, and several days can be invested as they make the rounds.

Golf Course of Lawsonia

Lawsonia is comprised of two separate 18-hole courses: The Links and The Woodlands. Both have been ranked 4 1/2 stars out of 5 by Golf Digest. The Links is one of the most celebrated and well-regarded courses in the country, offering links-style golf in the tradition of courses in Scotland. A railroad boxcar was buried by the A. F. Gelhar sand mining company under the seventh green to create its elevation. In 2017, The Links was ranked #59 of America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses by Golf Digest , #60 of the Top 100 Classic Courses in the USA by Golfweek , and #87 of the Top 100 Courses You can Play by Golf Magazine .

The Woodlands Course’s first nine holes were built in 1983, and the second nine opened in 1991. The Woodlands includes beautiful tree-lined fairways, stunning views of Green Lake, and a famous par 3 with a 65-foot drop!

Mascoutin Golf Club

Named for the Native Americans that lived in a village south of Berlin about 300 years ago, the Mascoutin Golf Club boasts a championship golf course that appeals to adult and junior golfers alike, offering challenges to professionals and novices of all ages.

The original red and white nines were designed by Larry Packard, and the course opened for play in 1976. The very popular blue nine, quite different in its challenges, was designed by Rick Jacobson and opened for play on July 19, 1999.

Junior golfers who care to take summer classes will appreciate lessons that provide an introduction to the game and its related rules, how to select and swing golf clubs, and proper etiquette on the course. Lessons include class discussion and two hours of playing on the course.
